New Refuse collecton feedback

A message from EHDC following the recent changes to refuse collection.

As you may be aware EHDC and Winchester City Council launched a shared waste and recycling collection service last week.

There have been some initial issues with the implementation of this service and as a result our Customer Services Team is receiving a number of calls from local residents.

It is possible that residents will come to your council or your councillors looking for information. If you are contacted by residents concerned about bin collections please direct them to the web site where they can log details on line.

Anyone experiencing a missed collection is asked to:

Once residents have logged their missed bin there is no need to phone again. The logging process takes a few minutes so some residents are experiencing long call waiting times. We are working closely with our contractor Biffa to resolve operational issues and additional resources are being employed temporarily to deal with the high call volumes.

We are continuing to analyse the volume and nature of calls so we can address particular problems as they occur and to work with Biffa to minimise repeat problems.
